President Donald Trump announced Thursday that the National Garden of American Heroes will be getting statues of American sports legends.
During a Black History Month ceremony at the White House, Trump announced that statues of late NBA star Kobe Bryant, late boxing legend Muhammad Ali, and late civil rights icon and MLB pioneer Jackie Robinson will all be erected in the garden.
The National Garden of American Heroes is a proposed sculpture garden that honors significant figures in American history. President Donald Trump first introduced this concept in 2020 during an Independence Day event in Keystone, South Dakota.
Trump’s vision for the garden is to create 250 statues representing notable Founding Fathers, activists, political figures, businesspeople, athletes, celebrities, and pop culture icons.
