The Cavaliers finished the regular season with 64 wins, the most in the Eastern Conference and the second-best record in the NBA behind the Oklahoma City Thunder.
The Indiana Pacers now have to wait for the winners of the New York Knicks and Boston Celtics to see who they face in the Eastern Conference finals. The Knicks have a 3-1 lead on Boston, with the Celtics’ star player, Jason Tatum, out for the season with an Achilles injury.
The Cavaliers were one of the NBA’s surprise teams this year; no one expected them to finish with the best record in the East. Their head coach, Kenny Atkinson, was named Coach of the Year, and this is the furthest the Cavs have gone since Lebron James left them in 2018.
