A’ja Wilson delivered a performance for the ages. She scored 34 points, grabbed 14 rebounds, and blocked three shots. This helped the Aces edge the Phoenix Mercury 90–88 in a thrilling Game 3 of the WNBA Finals. With the victory, Las Vegas takes a commanding 3–0 series lead. Putting them just one game away from securing their fourth championship title.

Wilson’s dominance was matched by her teammate, Jackie Young. The 6-foot guard erupted for 32 points, including a record-breaking 21 points in the third quarter. Her performance was the most points scored by a single player in a WNBA Finals quarter. Together, the dynamic duo carried the Aces through three quarters of a near-flawless basketball game. To the tune of taking a 17-point lead into the fourth quarter.

But the Mercury refused to fold. Led by veterans DeWanna Bonner and Kahleah Copper, Phoenix mounted a furious comeback. The Mercury was able to claw all the way back to tie the game at 88–88 with seconds remaining. The momentum had shifted entirely—until Wilson took control once again.

With the game clock winding down, Wilson received the ball near the elbow. She spun through a double-team and drained a clutch fadeaway jumper with just 0.3 seconds left on the clock. The shot silenced the Mercury crowd and sent the Aces bench into celebration.

Phoenix had one final chance as Bonner caught a lob pass for a catch-and-shoot attempt at the buzzer. However, the shot missed, sealing the win for Las Vegas.

After the game, Wilson praised her team’s resilience:

“We stayed composed,” she said. “They made their run, but we trusted each other and found a way to finish.”

The Aces are now on the verge of cementing their dynasty. They already won titles in 2022 and 2023, and are looking to capture their third Championship.
