The Oklahoma City Thunder defeated the Indiana Pacers 123-107, tying the NBA Finals best-of-seven series at 1-1. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was the top scorer with 34 points. Alex Caruso, the only player in the series with a championship ring, came off the bench to contribute 20 points. Aaron Wiggins (The younger brother of Andrew Wiggins) also added 18 points for the Thunder.
Oklahoma City went on a 19-2 run in the second quarter, establishing a 23-point lead. They entered halftime with a score of 59-41 and maintained their control for the rest of the game. In Game One, the Pacers made a remarkable comeback from a 15-point deficit in the fourth quarter to defeat the Thunder 111-110. However, the Thunder remained focused in Game Two and secured the victory. Shai Alexander scored 34 points, making him the top scorer in the 2025 NBA Playoffs. He led the league in scoring with an average of 32 points per game, played on the team with the most wins this season (69), and won the league MVP award. Now, the only thing Shai Alexander can do this season is win an NBA Championship.
Business as usual
The Thunder’s Game 2 win should come as no surprise. They’ve consistently responded to a loss this season with a comeback blowout.
Tyrese Haliburton led his team with 17 points and six assists. Myles Turner, who’s soon to be a free agent, added 16 points, four rebounds, and four assists. Pascal Siakam chipped in 15 points and grabbed seven rebounds for the Pacers.
Game three of the series will occur on Wednesday night in Indiana. This will be the first NBA Finals held in Indiana since the Pacers lost 4-2 to the Los Angeles Lakers in 2000.
