New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft is making it clear: he expects a turnaround, and soon. After one of the most challenging seasons in recent franchise history, Kraft is doubling down on his commitment to returning the Patriots to contender status.
“We’re going to get better. I promise you that,” Kraft told reporters earlier this week. “This organization is built on winning, and that hasn’t changed.”
Following the departure of legendary head coach Bill Belichick, the team has entered a new chapter under head coach Jerod Mayo. The Patriots also used the No. 3 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft to select quarterback Drake Maye, signaling the start of a rebuild centered around youth and leadership.
Kraft believes the pieces are in place to turn things around quickly.
“We’ve got a strong foundation again. With Jerod leading and a talented young quarterback coming in, there’s real hope for the future,” he added.
The Patriots finished 4–13 in the 2023 season, their worst record since 1992. However, with new leadership on the sidelines and at the helm, Kraft is optimistic that brighter days are ahead for Foxborough. The offense ranked near the bottom of the league, and uncertainty at the quarterback position plagued the franchise throughout the year.
But Kraft remains undeterred. “We’ve faced adversity before. What matters is how we respond. I believe in our new leadership and in the plan we’ve put in place.”
With a restructured coaching staff, a new quarterback, and renewed purpose, the Patriots hope to rebuild not just their roster but their identity. Fans may be skeptical, but Kraft’s message is clear: the dynasty days may be over, but the pursuit of excellence in Foxborough is far from finished.
